First Camp Group is the leading campsite owner and operator in the Scandinavian market, with 64 destinations in total in Sweden, Denmark and Norway.
The company is going through a fast paced expansion phase and has through organic growth and a large number of acquisitions grown from ~SEK 100M in revenues in 2016 to over SEK 1B. First Camp’s has a large team with over 1500 co-workers at peak season that are engaged in delivering fantastic guest experiences and build the world’s leading camping chain. The company is majority owned by the Private Equity company Norvestor, and there is great potential in further developing First Camp to an even larger leading European camping group with significant opportunities for both acquisitive and organic growth going forward.
First Camp is now looking for a new Group COO that will be part of the Group Management team, reporting to the CEO. As COO you have the full P/L and personnel responsibility for First Camp’s site operations and is expected to play a key role in leading the work with continuous improvements, innovation, sustainability and data-driven guest insights.
The COO will report to the CEO Johan Söör, and the position can be placed on different locations in Sweden, Denmark or Norway. The COO will be expected to travel rather extensively to work with the development of the guest experience, operations and cost efficiency on the different camp sites, as well as when leading and coaching the direct reporting regional managers. Moreover, the COO will have the possibility to invest in an attractive stock incentive program.
candidate profile
The right candidate for the role is a passionate and inspirational leader and role model that builds strong commitment, enthusiasm and culture for serving guests in the best way, as well as ensures to run efficient and profitable operations. You need to be a hands-on, down to earth, and pragmatic doer that have a good grip on the day-to-day operations and with good relationships across the company, but at the same time you also need to be able to contribute on a strategic level when longer-term development decisions for the operations, concept and overall company is to be made.
You have genuine and demonstrated successful leadership experience as senior executive in a multilocational service business with full P/L responsibility. Moreover, you are experienced in terms of leading other managers and personnel, as well as in building and developing an efficient and values driven organisation and culture through an expansion phase. You have previous experience from developing efficient and customer centric operations in an international or at least Nordic business setting, ideally with experience from integration of new entities.
